Summer 2010

GREEN gave me the confidence to send my resume to as many companies as I could find that I was interested in. I made finding a summer internship a priority. Partly because of GREEN I got interviews with 4 companies and every single one of them asked about GREEN. I had plenty to talk about, and I have no doubt that GREEN played a large role in the 3 job offers I got. I chose to take a co-op with General Electric Energy. I am currently working on an advanced combustion team working to make gas turbines more efficient. The skills I am gaining here are invaluable and I am learning more everyday than I ever thought possible. GREEN gave me an edge in the interview process because when I said I was very interested in a career in alternative energy and sustainability, I was not just talking. I had something to show for it.

This trip was very inspirational for me. Everyone was so nice and willing to help. This experience really changed my life and I learned more about myself and my true aspirations. Anyone willing to learn and be open minded will walk away with new and more goals, a different view on life, lifetime friends and more confidence to make a difference!
